29 of Sep 2024 Sun Sep 29 2024, 10:41:14 pm CET Today was a special day and it started early. When I say early, it was EARLY! We woke up at 04:40 because all the lights in the house was shining. Then at 04:45 we woke up again because the alarm clock was flashing and had to be reset. After that it was simply impossible to fall back to sleep again. Despite the desperate attempts until 08:30 or so. J. had to wake up at that time as he was going on a little excursion to Ghent with his friends. The best thing with that was the breakfast we had together, completely groggy, but it was worth it. J. left with friends in the morning and the parents had cunning plans already planned. Not really that cunning since it's been discussed with J. already a couple of days ago. But, the plans was to go to K's and J's apartment in Antwerp and get the laundry there. J. warned us upfront that he did not had the time to clean and make the dishes as it was a busy time the last morning he was there (he was late to the lesson thus). I know perfectly well what he meant. I remember how it was in the earlier times, in my earlier professional life starting out at Hertz in Sweden (in Kista head office to be specific). Anyhow, we left for Antwerp equipped for the task. Prepared for the worst. No, it was certainly not that bad. But we noticed that it could do with a thorough cleaning. After the clean-up, something we actually really enjoyed and to be able to provide them with some surprises. Great that we can be a part and help them out a bit. Fantastic! After the clean-up it was time for lunch Another GREAT place in Antwerp. Great food at a great location. and we decided to enjoy the beautiful city of Antwerp a little bit. We made a nice excursion and ended up in the Wasbar Read more about the concept of Wasbar - eating while you wash your clothes. BUT that is more a gimmick, the food is great! The are located on multiple places, we visited it on Melkmarkt in the heart of Antwerp.. Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
