5th until 28th of Jul 2026 Tue 28 Jul 2026, 7:59:04 pm CET OK, here I am again, after a long time of not writing anything. I have been busy taking some time off. As mentioned in the previous post, I have been on holiday for 18 days to be specific. Today was my second day back at work, and I am still busy catching up on all the emails and messages. It was a fantastic holiday - two weeks in the Azores (São Miguel Island) and a couple of days in Porto, Portugal. I just love the island of São Miguel, it is so beautiful and relaxing. The nature is amazing, the people are friendly and the food is great. Don't be surprised if I share images from it in the next couple of posts. Understandably, I have taken loads of images. Then, after the relaxing time and all that beauty, we went to Porto for a couple of days. Porto is a very special city, within the ugliness you have a lot of beauty. The city is very old, and the architecture is amazing. The people there are friendly and tremendously proud of their city. I have to say that I really like Porto, and I could definitely go back there again. Already after a few days back, it feels like it was ages ago that we went on holiday. I can only imagine the first house we stayed in, it was located north west on the island of São Miguel. It had a spectacular garden ending with a cliff down to the ocean. It was just a metal door that separated us from the great Atlantic Ocean. Often did we stand on the edge taking in the unforgeable view. The second stay was in the south east of the island, and it was a very different experience. The house was located in a small village, and it was very quiet and peaceful. It also had spectacular views, but it was a different kind of beauty. We were in the middle of fields sou rounded by mountains. The host and owners lived next to us - normally that is something we do not prefer, but in this case, it was a very good experience. The owners were very friendly (we talked a lot with the woman and H. received a birthday gift on her birthday etc) and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The house was actually cosier and better planned out on two floors, and it was very comfortable. Being back home and dove right into work and "normal" life which normally needs a bit of an adjustment. Even though I am very happy to be back home, it always takes a bit of time to adjust. There is always the time of reflecting on the holiday and the experiences we had. It is almost as if you fly up with an helicopter to get the view from above, see the life from another perspective, and then you come back down to the ground and see the life from a different perspective. It is a bit like that. I get another perspective on life and the everyday life you never reflect on duringn the busy days. There are things in life that you experience that triggers a new thought or a new input that you can learn from. With that, I will leave you for now, and I will be back with more posts in the next couple of days. A lot of images will be shared for sure... this was mainly to share the initial thoughts behind it all. Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
