Wed 21 Oct 2026, 7:48:21 pm CET It was a very busy work day today, one call after the other. In between I also completed a newsletter and published it. I like the process and the technical- and process solution (which I'm quite proud of) in place. I had also an urgent thing that needed to be done and presented to management. I like those days when I can be very productive and get a lot done as a team effort.

The last couple of days I have had my eyes on Hermes AI desktop application, which is a very interesting AI tool. I have been testing it and I like the way it works. It is a very powerful tool and I can see a lot of potential in it. I have been using the OpenCode solution for a while now and I like it too, but Hermes is a bit more advanced and has more features, more refined, I should say. Both solutions are very good and I can see a lot of potential in both of them in slightly different areas. I will continue using them in my everyday workflow and see how they perform. AI is great if it used the correct way, and that is as a tool to off-load us from repetitive tasks. It should never ever replace, it should help us to be more productive and efficient. Anyway, I am using both OpenCode and Hermes with Ollama and local models and I train and use local profiles specifically for the tasks. I think I have a great technical framework setup around that built up over the last couple of years. An article will probably soon be published about it, but I will not go into details here.

But all that aside, I started today's post with with the idea of sharing a quick update on what's been going on in the background here on the website. I guess it is good that you know a bit of the technical background as there are some dependencies between the technical framework and the content, of course. I have made some serious updates in the background, but without too much of an impact on the user experience. If you noticed any changes, I hope they were only positive. It might not tell you too much, but I have moved from table based page layout to Flexbox layout. Simply put, it is using more of Stylesheet and DIV heavy rendering than the HTML and Table driven technology. This was something, and now I am closing the circle, that Hermes suggested me to do to be in line with today's technology. And, like I preach, I have used AI technology as a tool to help me, rather than taking over the creativity aspect of things. Huh, it all comes together in the end...

With that, I am signing off. I had ideas of writing about something else, but now we are where we are. I think it turned out great and next post will be the more personal (that was the initial idea) than this one. Sleep tight ...do not let the ghosts get you in sight.

Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
