30th Dec until 5th of Jan 2026 Sun 4 Jan 2026, 7:25:36 pm CET All of a sudden it is Sunday again. Another week passed by in the blink of an eye. Time flies when you are having fun, they say. Well, we did have a good time during the holidays, but still... Where did the time go? And 2026 is already here. Unbelievable! The last couple of days were strange and, well difficult to put it in words... Weird atmosphere happening between friends and acquittances. People acting strange, being passive aggressive, and just generally being unpleasant to be around. Similar things are happening in the world at large, so I guess it is a reflection of the times we are living in. Sad but true. Anyways, not too much to dwell on here. Just wanted to point it out as I hear more and more people experiencing the same thing. It is as if people have lost their ability to be kind and considerate towards each other. Everyone seems to be egoistic and self-centred, only caring about their own needs and desires. There I go again, sounding like an old grumpy person... Haha! Mon Jan 5 2026, 6:54:56 pm CET I never got around to finish this entry yesterday, so here I am again today, Monday the 5th of January 2026, trying to wrap up my thoughts from yesterday. As I was saying, it is a strange time we are living in. The world seems to be falling apart, and people are becoming more and more disconnected from each other. Social media is not helping either, as it creates a false sense of connection while actually isolating us even more. We need to find ways to reconnect with each other and rebuild our communities. It starts with small acts of kindness and compassion towards one another. Right? Enough about that. I have been rambling on for too long now about that. Time to move on and focus on the positive things in life. Like recent positive developments in my personal life and work. It's started to snow here, which is really adding to a nice and cosy winter atmosphere. I love the snow, it makes everything look so magical and serene. I was out today taking a walk and enjoying the winter wonderland. The crisp air, the sound of snow crunching under my boots, and the sight of snow-covered trees and houses. It brought some memories back from childhood, when I used to play in the snow - skiing, making snow castles (fortresses used in snowball wars against the kids in the neighbourhood) for hours on end. Then exhausted and sweaty we only arrived home to a waiting hot chocolate. Good times! It just seems so far away now... Anyway, back from the memory lane. Here are some things on a row that I wanted to mention before I end this entry: Christmas and New Year celebrations, 3D printing projects I did a lot of 3D printing during the holidays!, golf projects, dryer issues, printer- and computer issues, tobacco growing, new email provider strategy, and so on. Where do I start..? I love open source, Linux (Mac included), and all related things tech. Most of my choices relates back to that philosophy. So, when it comes to email providers, I have been using ProtonMail for a while now, and I like it a lot. I will keep it and I can see the use-case for it. However, I have also decided to move my main email to Purelymail great service from Purelymail. Check it out here... (a true privacy-focused email provider with true SMTP/IMAP services), which is a fabulous email provider. They do not have a free plan, they have a trial plan in which you get 0.50 USD worth of credits stored to your account for free. That will be enough for about a month or so, obviously depending on usage etc. I have been using for a little while and I absolutely adore it and I have been starting to migrate Gmail (all the forwarding rules etc) and registered accounts (my password service of choice Bitwarden vault is going through a serious update) over where it apples. Again, the evening and night has been just too nice to stay writing on this post. I am back again on the keyboard to wrap this up. The garden is looking really nice covered in snow. I took a few pictures earlier today, and I must say, it looks like a winter wonderland out there. The snow-covered trees and bushes, the white blanket covering the ground, and the icicles hanging from the roof - it's all so beautiful. Just to give you an idea, have a look at this My garden looking like a true winter wonderland, my garden a few minutes ago. OK, the new dryer that we ordered and the printer that I bought today (yes, I actually went to a physical tech store today) and a set of iron golf clubs that was ordered online today will just have to wait for the next entry. I am getting tired now, and it is time to call it a day. Until next time, take care and stay warm out there in this cold winter weather! Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
