A little bit of this and that

What's this then?

How nice of you to drop by! What is this about then? Think of this as my semi-organised braindump, mainly to collect stuff for future reference. I'll try to stick to two main categories: daily reflections and gadgets and tech stuff. This will be so organised!

Another aspect of this website is learning and exploring, to see what's possible using the cores basics of web technology, going back to how it used to be - developing websites in plain HTML and CSS. I recently updated the website's tech framework, and it's made a huge difference to the workflow and the back-end process. Especially updating and maintaining the website is much more efficient now. After doing thorough research and sticking to the tech and philosophy I started out with, I finally settled on Hugo. It's a fantastic framework and the best static website generator out there. I'd never go for something like Wordpress or anything bloated like that. I want to give the user a snappy, sleek and streamlined experience. I've created my own Hugo theme from scratch for this website, to ensure the same original feel.

Daily reflections is where I write about random things that are currently on my mind. Typically, it is my daily log of thoughts as I sip a nice cup of coffee and contemplate life. It can be anything, no restrictions, and I prefer to do it on my own platform, in my own way, with full control. Not chasing likes, views or anything destructive like that...

What about Gadgets and Tech stuff? That's easy - who doesn't like gadgets, right? Things like 3D printing (love it), Raspberry Pi (awesome), RC & drones (too much fun), Linux (super interesting), IoT (how cool is that), general IT solutions and IT architecture (ohhh nice), IT development (a must) ... the list of topics is long and I'm not going to limit myself in any way. For example, I have recently added the hobby and lifestyle of pipe smoking I already own 4 pipes - 2 Savinellis, a Peterson and a Falcon. I am also trying out growing my own tobacco... to the list of things I am passionate about.

I also thought I would cover some of the practical stuff and how this site is constantly being improved. Like how to logically navigate and search the site etc. For those who have been around for a while, you will have seen the facelift we've had here over the years. The basic look and feel is still the same, but it's now under the umbrella of Cloudflare and the Hugo framework. Hugo - the awesome static site generator! This was by far the biggest effort, getting everything to work properly within the framework and developing my own Hugo theme. But now I am glad I did it!

So take a deep breath, lean back, relax and enjoy the daily posts. Preferable with a fresh cup of coffee. There might be content of your liking, feel free to Google search Search the huge archive of content here. It is searching in the current posts as well as in the archived content. the huge archive. I recently added a great new feature, the content search I found it on the Hugo site. It is really a great search function that will do a deep search of the current content, the archived content is excluded!.

...Or maybe you prefer exploring my updated Bookmark section You will find a lot of interesting and useful resources here completely free!? It's my knowledge base full of useful resources ordered in a categorized way.

...Or take a break and enjoy some random pictures relevant to the season and feeling on The Random 7 page Some pictures randomly selected from the web ordered in 7 categories!?

...and if there are any remarks, comments, donations... send me a constructive message Send a nice constructive message please. This is the channel I created to stay in touch with you, the readers.. Enjoy it!

Send me a message

As you have noticed, I do not let people like or comment my posts directly. It is done on purpose, the idea is to focus on the content and not the likes. Free from clutter. I leave that up to platforms like Facebook, Instagram and others...

However, as of now, you can send me a message separately. A comment, feedback, question...anything really!
